Have you ever attended a Seniors & Baby Boomers Expo? These free events are held regularly in many locations and at least five times a year on the Gold Coast.
They can be a valuable way to educate yourself about the services available to you. An example of what is on offer can include:
- Free hearing checks and assessments
- Medical providers
- Seniors travel experts
- Advice from Centrelink and Gold Coast City Council
- Residential aged care providers
- Mobility and vision aids
- In-home care
- Seniors specialist financial advice
- Over 50’s resort style living
- Real Estate Agents with an interest in Seniors needs and downsizing options
- Seniors insurance advisers
- Legal advisers
- Alternative medical options such as chiropractic and massage
Since their inception on the Gold Coast in 2008, these expos have gained in popularity year by year. They have become an important and non-threatening opportunity for Seniors to navigate through the maze of choices and options that are available to them.
Having a forward plan and an understanding of what may lay ahead can alleviate some of the fear and stress that some may experience during this transition. Retirement and lifestyle in the twilight years can be fulfilling and healthy, full of opportunities, rewarding friendships and positive experiences.
Here is a list of 2020 expos already in the planning. Mark one that’s in your area and make a promise to attend.
